Peppino Caffetteria - Torrefazione del Caffè is a new Coffee bar and roastery in Rome. Peppino has the inspiration to become Rome’s leading coffee specialists. The vision of Peppino is on coffee appreciation and fair and ecological development. So that the coffee farmers get their fair share, forests and wildlife prevention.

Our assignment was to create a timeless classic Italian brand to sit alongside their traditional, classic, energetic and climate awareness approach. We referenced Peppino’s branding and visual identity with old Javan and Sumatra coffee culture with an Italian mix.

We then designed a traditional hand-drawn typographic logo, which is used in black and orange with an ink background press print. The brand includes plastic free and durable materials. For the coffee packages, we use naturally textured paper and water paint for the animals and vegetation of the package which live in the regions where the bean comes from.

We created a menu website where the customer can order his or her coffee on and after paying on their mobile devices, they have a half hour free WIFI. It all works after connection to the WIFI hotspot of Peppino.

As for the naming, we choice the nickname of the owner who is called Giuseppe, in the southern regions of Italy where his roots are from family and friends say Peppino, not Giuseppe.
